We are super excited that Embassy improvisers will be hitting the stages at two festivals in the next few weeks.
The seven members of the Embassy faculty — Angus, Chris, Dani, Deborah, Josef, Leslie and Val — will be performing on Friday, Nov. 11, at 9 p.m. as part of Mprov, Montreal’s Improv Festival. Some faculty performers are also performing as part of special festival teams, such as the Armando Jam and the Kiki All-Lady Jam.
Speaking of Deborah (who teaches our Intro to Sketch class), she’s got a brand-new piece in the Fresh Meat DIY Theatre Festival that runs Oct. 20 to 22 at Arts Court. Her one-woman 20-minute show is called TEAD Talks, and it’s about “ideas that aren’t always worth spreading.” Fresh Meat is a very cool showcase of new theatrical shows and last year’s edition saw the debut of “Slow Burn,” a one-act improvised play created by Embassy faculty Chris and Leslie.
