One of our favourite things at the Improv Embassy is festivals. We produce the Ottawa Improv Festival and, when we can, we love going to other cities to see what they’re doing and showing off what we can do.
So we are very excited to announce that our artistic directors, Dani and Chris, are off to represent the Improv Embassy and Ottawa improv at festivals in other cities this month!
As a duo, “Mom & Dad” performs an improv set inspired by stories from audience members about their parents. Dani and Chris got inspiration for their name and format from the students who nicknamed them the “Mom & Dad” of the Improv Embassy.
First up is Mprov, the Montreal Improv Festival, where Mom & Dad will be performing as part of the 7 pm lineup on Sunday, Nov. 11. Dani will also be in “The Kiki,” Mprov’s all-star jam of female performers, on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 7 pm.
Next is the Big City Improv Festival, Toronto’s biggest improv celebration. Mom & Dad will be performing at Comedy Bar on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 9:30 pm (tickets here) and Sunday, Nov. 18, at 8 pm (tickets here).
If you’re in Montreal or Toronto those weekends, we hope to see you there!
